The Singapore Airline SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong is located near the front of terminal 1, you will see signs around the airport pointing to the lounge, nearby gate 15 after immigration check. All Singapore Airline premium cabin passengers will have access to the SilverKris Lounge, as well as Star Alliance operated flights, Star Alliance Gold members and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members.
The lounge is open from 6:15 AM to 11:30 PM daily.
Singapore Airline SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong
As you enter to the lounge, you will see an open room on the right of the corridor, a seating area located behind the reception desk. I don’t think you can bring the food to this area. If you prefer to be sit in a quiet place without any disturbance, you can choose to wait in this room after having your meal at the main lounge. I think it’s also a great place for big group or family to hang around so that you won’t be bothering others in the lounge.
THE MAIN LOUNGE
The lounge is one long room and the first part of the lounge is the self-service buffet and dining area. There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit down and enjoy the your meal or drinks. I have seen a couple of TVs in the main lounge for passenger to enjoy and pass time.
Though the lounge was quite empty when we were there, I kind of questioned the amount of seats they have would be enough to fit in the people traveling in Hong Kong International Airport. This lounge is way smaller compared to the SilverKris Lounge in Singapore Changi Airport.
Free WIFI is also available throughout the lounge, remember to ask for password from the reception desk.
FOOD AND DRINKS
As mentioned, they have a fantastic buffet station in the main lounge, there’s a great selection of both Asian and western cuisine. Since it’s Christmas, they have made a gingerbread house for display (not sure if you can actually eat that). It was lunch service when we entered the lounge, so we have plenty of food selection, mainly Asian dishes such as fried rice, noodles, chicken wings, asian vegetables while western food they have soups and spaghetti. If you’re looking for something light and less heavy, the lounge also serve salads, sandwiches, fruits and pastries. Overall the food was good and tasty.
For drinks, they have soda cans, juices and water in the fridge up front. The lounge also serve alcohol including wines, beers and spirits. For hot drinks, there’s coffee and tea as well.
Just like most lounge, SilverKris Lounge also provide amenities such as dental kits, combs etc in the bathrooms if you would like to freshen up before the flight. They have bathrooms and two shower suites for both male and female. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained overall.
I have to say SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong is a very classy lounge that provide amazing services. The receptionist was very polite and professional. The food quality was good, the lounge attendants also did a great job with refilling food items and cleaning tables. They did a great job keeping the lounge clean and immaculate.
I would highly suggest that you check with the receptionist whether they will make boarding announcement for your flight. There have been some instances where the receptionist told us (in other lounge) they don’t.
Finally, the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong is a small lounge (compared to Singapore Changi Airport) but a great private place to rest, eat and get some work done if needed. Even though it is a smaller lounge, it was definitely better compared to the other paid lounges in Hong Kong International Airport.
Note: Normally, your gate (back to Singapore) will be right outside of the SilverKris Lounge, very convenient and no need to rush when you’re running out of time!
